MY LIFE AND WHO I AM

ME AT MY SIS WEDDING

HI. My names Jackie. I have a bone disease called Osteogenisis Imperfecta, and another disease called hydrocephalus. hydrocephalus is a disease where fluid builds up around a person’s brain it in it self can become very dangerous if it is not watched carefully by doctors. I have a shunt which incase some people don’t know is a type of tubing, to be exact it is called a surgical drainage tube this tube starts off at the top of my head and goes all the way down to my stomach. It’s basically just a tube with a fancy little tip at the end, that fancy part sucks up all the extra fluid around my brain and drains it in to my stomach. Okay so that’s the first disease I have, the second disease like I said earlier is called Osteogenisis Imperfecta. This disease is the one I mostly focus on, this is the one that gives me all the trouble lol. This disease is a brittle bone disease, basically my bones do not grow and break at a touch. I remember when I was younger and my doctor was trying to explain things to me he told me my bones are as thin as a tooth pick and soft as Jello!!! so yeah obviously that’s bad lol. I break many many bones a day I pretty much break a bone every hour. I know insane right can’t possibly be true right? well sad to tell you it is all true!!! I break a bone when I cough when I sneeze some times I even break bones from  having a fast heart beat and I break from taking deep breaths!! people ask me all the time if when I break can I feel it is it painful? well um yeah duh, is it painful when anyone else breaks a bone? yes it is, so why would it be any different for me lol, all I can do is try to explain it like this, People with O.I myself included experience the same symptoms when we break as anyone else in the world does when their bones break, the thing that’s different about it is the strength it takes to break them, its kind of like being in a car accident every day or being beat up everyday, I know that’s a little crazy to think but its the best way to describe how it feels to a healthy average person. I  am 24 years old but I do not look it at all I pretty much look like im 24 months old lol. a part of the disease is your bones do not grow so because your bones do not grow your body obviously doesn’t either, so I am only 25 inches long and about 33 pounds. My body may not grow but my organs still have grown to a normal 24 year old adult organs, so because of that I got another whole set of medical issues, because all my organs are being crushed, best way to explain it is its like trying to fit 10 pounds of flour in a 5 pound bag if you really smoosh it all down it will fit but eventually all the sides are gonna start bulging out lol. that’s kinda like me, everything was smooshed inside of me so because of that everything’s on top of each other and well being smooshed lol, like right now because everything’s being crushed and because my bones are so brittle and deformed my spine is now pressing on my lungs and my lungs could not take it anymore and so all of my right lung is collapsed and most of my left lung 😦 so I am now dependent on oxygen, I was put on oxygen about 9 or 10 years ago, I think I was around 15 or 16 years old the first time my lungs collapsed.   When I was born my doctors told my parents I would die with in 10 days but by the grace of GOD I am still here!!! yahoo yahoo lol. This disease is pretty rare, there are different types of this disease when I was born there was a total of 6 types now there’s I think 8 there may even be more than that not fully sure. I have one of the most severe types, actually when I was born my Doctors said I had the worse case they ever seen, and still when I see different Doctors they are still amazed by me because a lot of them still say they never seen a case of O.I like mine, and anyone they have seen that look similar have all passed on with in a few years after birth. At this moment in time me my doctors and my family don’t know of anyone with O.I as severe as mine that have lived as long as me, now please anyone who reads this don’t get me wrong especially if people with O.I read this, I am not saying I have the worse case I am just saying I don’t know anyone and either do my Doctors with a person that has my case of O.I  which is one of the reasons I made this blog. I want to be able to share my story and my life with others so people can learn about people with Osteogenisis and help other people who may have the disease. My goal one day is to become a writer so that is also why I made this blog am hoping to practice some of my writing and then be able to write my own book one day. I am not going to lie this disease is a rough disease to have it is very painful and for sure a struggle, but I want to show people, that if you have Osteogenisis Imperfecta or as we all call it O.I even though it’s a struggle and a life threatening disease it doesn’t mean it’s a death sentence, it doesn’t mean you can’t live a somewhat normal life, it doesn’t mean you can’t live a happy and fulfilling life. There is such a negative outlook on this disease so many people and Doctors think if you have O.I than you got to be unhappy and depressed, and yes I can understand if there are people out there with O.I that are like that, cause like I said it isn’t easy and im not going to pretend it is, but I also am here to tell you all and show you that we can survive we can be happy we can have a fulfilling life, I know I DO!!! I have such an amazing family and parents that take amazing care of me and have taught me that with GOD I can do all things, why can I? cause the bible says I can. So anyways I just wanted to give you a short detailing of my life and why I made this blog ill be sharing allot more soon but for now just wanted to get something up finally lol. If anyone has any comments or questions about me or about O.I than please feel free to ask. and anyone that does read this blog GOD bless you all. P.S please excuse my spelling and grammar errors, and I apologize if its kind of hard to read some of this. I never was fully able to finish school so I am not the best when it comes to spelling and grammar lol.

      Hi Jackie,
I am SO GLAD YOU HAVE RECONNECTED WITH ALL OF US OUT HERE! We are in exciting times and HE LOVES US INFINITELY. Do you know WE ARE IN THE SCRIPTURES! YES!
      Deuteronomy 28:58-61
“…………….THY PLAGUES WONDERFUL, AND THE PLAGUES OF THEY SEED (CHILDREN DOWN THE STREAM OF TIME)
EVEN GREAT PLAGUES, AND OF LONG CONTINUANCE, AND SORE SICKNESSES, AND OF LONG CONTINUANCE…..ETC.,

Down the stream of time we have been under fire, through the genetic code, but through OUR SAVIOR we can endure the 43,200 seconds which equals twelve hours and HE IS GLORIFIED AND WE HAVE A FUTURE CALLED HEAVEN!

      Psalm 51:8
“Make me to hear JOY AND GLADNESS that the bones which thou hast broken my rejoice!” I rejoice because I KNOW WE ARE HIS DAUGHTERS.

The elements of the philosophy of ETERNAL LIFE housed in the Scriptures is the only thing that makes sense in this laser house of pain called Spaceship Earth under siege by the prince of the power of the air.

We are in a war between GOOD AND evil and because of the Scriptures we have more than hope…..we have a future reality that is grand and glorious ! All that human experience, you and me can endure we deal with, but what is this compared to an eternal future!

I’m excited right now………………..you are in my THOUGHTS, PRAYERS AND LOVE,

      Revelation 12:11 says:
“And they overcame him (satan) by the BLOOD OF THE LAMB, and the WORD OF OUR TESTIMONY; AND THEY LOVED NOT THEIR LOVES UNTO DEATH!”

I PRAISE HIM AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR LIFE’S TESTIMONY!

I turned 31 this year & am always looking to befriend people especially those with OI because on the tough days it helps to know someone understands. I look forward to the future. I am definately going to put you on my prayer list. You are a beautiful girl whether you look 24 mnths or 24 years. God can do amazing things in our lives. He has great plans for you. I was born crippled and they told my parents I would never walk. I was also a blue baby and was not getting enough oxygen. My parents took me to 3 different specialists and after a cast and night splints I was my parent’s earliest walker at 9 months old.At 46 years old I still have my cast!! Noone is taking that away. I have had nothing but trials in my life since then so I always believe that when God gives us these diseases and disorders and trials etc. He has a purpose for us. So keep up the faith girl!!! Jackie,

You are an inspiration to us all and God has used you, your faith as a powerful tool to give hope to the hopeless and those in darkness leading them to the light of Christ Jesus our Salvation. I will look forward to reading your post. Be assured that nothing goes to waiste with God and God can take that which to our eyes to be a bad situation and bring about good from it. You are and can be a powerful source of intercessory prayer though Jesus.

St. Paul states in 1 Colosians 1:24 “For now I rejoice in my suffering on your behalf, and I complete in my flesh the things that are lacking in the Passion of Christ, for the sake of his body, which is the Church”.

We know that nothing is laking in the price Christ paid upon the Cross so we know that St. Paul is not saying that Jesus did not do enough upon the cross. So, what is lacking that St. Paul can claim to make up for with his sufferings? The “what” that is lacking is each and every individual human beings response to accepting what Jesus did upon the cross for them. Their personal embrace of Jesus as Lord and Saviour is what is laking. That Said, St. Paul came to understand that nothing goes to waiste with almighty God, even his personal trials and sufferings and that he is able to unit his sufferings to the Cross of Jesus for abundent graces to be bestowed upon his fellow man that they may come to know Jesus and embrace him as Lord and Savior too.

Yes, our suffering can be united to the Cross, the sufferings of Jesus for the conversion of sinners and other needs that benefit our relationship and journey with God. We bring others to Christ, they accept him in their life, have their sins cleaned by the Blood of the Lamb, Yes, we participate in sharing the redeptive power of Christ upon the cross with our fellow man. So offer up and unite your suffering to Jesus and practice this powerful gift, this powererful prayer God has given to you, Redemptive Suffering, or as the old lady’s use to say, “Offer it Up”!

Use your gift to pray for me while you are at it. Yes, please pray for my friend Joe who has just found out he has incurable cancer. This is not a Joe you know but he is a fellow brother in Christ 🙂

    In the Love of Jesus,

    Marco

Roo, I hope you don’t mind me saying this, but Jackie wrote this after having had surgery, getting an infection and being sick, losing her grandfather unexpectedly, and all the everyday struggles she regularly encounters. Girl, this is more than a comment on your blog! It’s a wonderful sermon!!!!!!! You never cease to amaze me in that you always have such a SONny disposition despite what goes on around you. It always makes me stop and count my blessings, because so many of us complain about the smallest things that in contrast are so trivial in reality to what really matters. As you quoted…. Count it ALL joy! Indeed we should take inventory of what we should be truly thankful for each and every day! I am thankful for you in my life! Thanks for the powerful Word! hoping to see you guys sooner than later! Lisa

We come into our world to develop character!

Imagine that an amazing messenger from our CREATOR blessed you on the day you were born.
“Welcome to Spaceship Earth, little one. You are starting out on your life mission. I want you to constantly remember that you are created in the CREATOR’S IMAGE and you are HIS child. He has created this world for your benefit and for you to have a place to grow and develop your character.

You will live your life one moment at a time. I bless you to appreciate and be grateful for life with every breath that you breathe. You will need to learn many things to make the most of your stay in the Earth. I want you to get off to a good start. So I bless you with four qualities. These four qualities will upgrade your self-talk when you learn to speak.

I bless you with JOY! Whenever you pray or read the Scriptures or study, do so with JOY! JOY will make every spiritual word and action more elevated.

I bless you with courage. Have the courage to fulfill your life’s mission. Don’t needlessly limit yourself with fear. I bless you to experience joy every time you do something you might fear.

I bless you with love, love for our CREATOR and love for being kind to people. Each word and act of kindness is another opportunity to experience more joy!

I bless you with serenity. That will give you an inner calm and a clear mind to be able to think wisely and creatively.

You will forget that you received this blessing living in planet Earth, but these benefits will always be with you when you bring them to your mind. For those of you that have children, you see how they react to reality……with JOY!
    -Professor Rabbi Plishkin

James Madison was one of the signers of the CONSTITUTION; said, “Conscience is the most sacred of all property!” 29 of the signers were individuals who read the SCRIPTURES. Use your conscience, along with the qualities above to fulfill your mission in our world and you will come before OUR CREATOR with
“Well, done!” We are in a war between GOOD and evil. Do what’s right and have a clear conscience.
