Hi all, first off I just want to say thank you to all those who celebrated wishbone day 2024 with me (osteogenesis Imperfecta awareness day). It truly means so much to me that we can all come together as one big community/family and shine some light and joy on such a gruesome disability. The reality is, O.I is hard, I am not going to lie and say it isn’t hard because it is, but times like this is what makes the fight worth it, and what opens my eyes more and more to see just how blessed I am😍 please watch the video above because I have a very important question I asked in the video.
As far as my health goes not much to report, things are not great but yet stable, I do feel the abdominal hypertension is ramping up again but it’s done this several times so I’m just praying and hoping that it calms it self down like it has in the past. For those who do not know what abdominal hypertension is, then google it LOL, sorry way to complicated for even me to try to explain 😂😂😂
Ok now let’s get down to business. I bet I caught you all off guard with that title ah? (Is worship like cocaine) LOL. Obviously I gave that title purposely because I wanted to get your attention, and catch you all off guard. Obviously worship isn’t like Cocaine, but, but, but, is it becoming to be like that to the “church” or the “Christian” community? my answer is YES, I feel it is.
We’re starting to put worship before our relationship with Christ. People are starting to put that feel good feeling, that high kinda feeling that you can get from a good worship service/experience before Christ. More and more I am hearing people say stuff like; oh I can’t wait to get to church so I can feel the “anointing” and that’s fine to a certain degree, it’s fine to be excited about going to church, but if you’re going just for the “anointing” and only that, than that’s where the issue comes into play.
All we do is talk about the “anointing”, we talk about it so much that than we’re not actually talking about Christ. Now I get it, you’re all going to say; well that’s our way to feel connected to Christ, and if you said that you would be one hundred percent right. It is ONE of the ways to connect with him, but it isn’t the only way, there are a ton of other ways. How about just praying,, just talking to God, just being still and having that moment of you just being alone and talking one on one to him.
No expectations, no wanting to be healed of some ailment, or wanting him to fix your finances, or your marriages, or your kids troubles, or your broken car, and all the other needs we can think of that we come to God with. What if we took time to just talk to him, not about our needs but just talk, talk to him like he’s your best friend, or your partner, because that’s what he is, he is all that and so much more. He gives sooo much of himself, he gives his everything to us every minute of every day. Could you do that? I know I couldn’t.
We are becoming a society that longs for that feel good feeling more than longing for Christ. I hear it from people daily, they are so focused on feeling the “anointing” that they put all their focus on that, there’s more to Christ than speaking in “tongues” and feeling the “anointing”. The gifts of the spirit are an incredible thing, they truly are gifts, but let’s not focus so much on those things that we lose track of life and the realities of life.
God never promised to heal us of every ailment, he just promised us we would be ok no matter what, he promised we would be held in his arms, and protected by his grace
My grandmother always says, she is so glad she has Jesus as her person, her supporter, her husband, her best friend, and you know what, I have to agree. I am so glad I have Jesus as my “person”, my supporter, husband, and best friend and I thank her and my father for bringing Jesus into our lives. If it wasn’t for my dad and grandma meeting Jesus years ago, before I was even born, than I have no clue where my life would be. Honestly I don’t think I would have ever been born even, because if my parents didn’t meet Jesus all those years ago, my mom may have not had even had me or my sister. So when I say I’m so thankful to Jesus for life, I am not just saying that because of my disability, I’m saying it for so many reasons🙏
